Frequently Asked Questions

What is a DrupalCamp? What is Drupal?

Drupal is an open-source content management system (CMS) that can serve as a foundation for user-managed sites with large volumes of information. A DrupalCamp is a community event for Drupal enthusiasts. It’s our place to come together to share our talents and ideas, spread the word on Drupal, and get newbies up to speed.

The first DrupalCamp Montreal was held Oct 3-4, 2008.

How Much Does it Cost?

We will be collecting a voluntary $20 admission to go towards the purchase of DrupalCamp Montreal t-shirts and lunch for both days of the camp. Thank you to our generous sponsors for making this camp possible at such a low cost per person.

If at the end of the camp we have money left over, a portion may be retained to be used as seed capital for future Montreal Drupal events or donated to an organization of the community’s choice. The final budget will be shared so that the community can plan even better camps in the future.

How Big is the Camp?

Last year’s DrupalCamp had 60 attendees. This year’s will have 100-200. We hope to make this a recurring regional event, and would like to welcome Drupalers from everywhere in the area.

Why Do I Need to Register on This Site?

Everything you need related to DrupalCamp Montreal is here. We’ll order your t-shirt, order lunches and make your name tag based on what you tell us. You also need it to pick sessions.

Why Do I Need to Vote on Sessions?

Because it’s YOUR camp. If you don’t vote for the sessions you want, they might not be offered. This is a community event and we want everyone to participate!

Can I Prepay?

Unfortunately, no. We will be accepting the $20 voluntary admission fee at the door in cash only.

Is DrupalCamp Good for Newbies?

Yes it is! Not only will you be surrounded by experienced Drupalers eager to help you learn, but Omar Bickell from Koumbit will be putting on a session for beginners only. If you haven’t successfully installed Drupal yet, we’ll walk you through it. If there’s something you want to learn, ask and maybe someone will give a session or BoF!

Can I Still Become a Sponsor?

Absolutely! Please contact either Omar Bickell at omar@koumbit.org or Miriam Martz at miriam@evolvingweb.ca and they will help you find the sponsorship opportunity that’s right for you.
